The Commercial-residential building Gonzaga Nova Gorica is a contemporary urban structure that blends business and residential functions. Located in the heart of Nova Gorica, between Vojkova Street, the Church of Christ the Redeemer, and the Soča Printing House, the project transforms a former green site into a new architectural landmark. It connects business, healthcare, and living spaces in a balanced, modern composition that complements the city’s urban fabric.
The design follows a clear vertical organisation. Two underground levels contain parking and technical spaces. The ground floor and four upper levels house offices and healthcare facilities. The fifth floor includes five apartments with large terraces overlooking the city. The structure, organised as 2B+G+5F, creates a compact and balanced volume.
The architectural expression of the commercial-residential building Gonzaga Nova Gorica is based on transparency and structure. The ground floor features an open glass façade, forming a visual connection between the interior and the public space. Above it, the office floors display a rhythmic façade pattern, while the top residential level is recessed and framed by glass railings and green terraces. Materials such as glass, concrete, metal, and plaster create a timeless and durable aesthetic.
The project focuses strongly on accessibility and sustainability. Entrances are barrier-free, and elevators connect all levels. The reinforced concrete frame ensures excellent thermal and acoustic performance. The exterior design includes parking, a driveway ramp, pedestrian walkways, and landscaped green areas that smoothly integrate the building into its surroundings.
The building combines functionality, elegance, and urban identity - an architectural concept that enriches the city with a refined sense of modern living.
