The Laboratory building represents a refined example of contemporary architectural design within a technological and industrial setting. The new structure occupies a trapezoidal footprint derived from the orthogonal grid of the surrounding production complex. Its southern edge follows the natural geometry of the plot. The three upper floors form a unified volume with a flat roof. They rest on a recessed ground floor, shaped by existing infrastructure routes that could not be relocated.
The ground floor accommodates technical and storage areas, while the rest houses laboratory spaces, related offices and mechanical rooms. The entrance, emphasized by a cantilevered steel canopy lined with wood, marks the southwest corner of the building and creates a sheltered transition between the exterior and the interior.
Laboratory architecture and interior design require precision, interdisciplinary coordination, and a deep understanding of technical and environmental standards. In this building, architecture transcends aesthetics - it becomes a tool for efficiency, safety, and the optimisation of scientific processes.
The spatial concept is defined by the separation of clean and non-clean zones, clear circulation routes for personnel and materials, and precise environmental control. Smooth, antistatic, and chemical-resistant surfaces ensure easy maintenance and durability.
The architectural language is calm and rational, emphasising proportion, clarity, and light. Horizontal bands of glazing alternate with ventilated aluminium cladding, creating a balanced rhythm of transparency and solidity. Warm wooden finishes under the canopy soften the building’s technical expression, introducing a human-scale touch.
